eNews from The Hills December 2024 |
UPDATE FROM OUR GENERAL MANAGER |
|
|
Dear Hills Members,
The FINAL month of 2024! That is incredibly wild to type and even harder to believe. Part of me feels relief as we’ve made it through another year here without a serious or dangerous incident. With safety a top priority at the club, this is a very big deal. Part of me feels sadness simply because it feels like this year lasted just a few months; I cannot wrap my head around the fact that 2025 is next month! But most of me feels thankful, grateful, content, and happy. I took a long, thorough walk around the club this morning and it brought a pretty big smile to my face. The club looks amazing, and has throughout the year. All of the pool and hot tub heaters were recently serviced for preventative maintenance. We “survived” our first storms of the season, lasting about 8 consecutive days, and the staff rallied together as a team to keep the club looking awesome. Sure, it will never be perfect. There will always be something needing to be fixed, repaired, cleaned, replaced, removed, etc. But, as I completed my walkaround, this club looked like a fairytale; the sun was shining, the air was clean, I could see the snow atop the Sierras in the distance of the rolling hills. And it felt perfect at that moment.
|
I plan to send out my “State of The Hills” letter via email to all members in a week or so. Please be on the lookout for it as I’ll address any planned projects, policy changes, and updates as we head into 2025. Until then, Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones! -Nick |

Stay on Track During the Holidays |
As we get ready to welcome a new year, I hope 2024 was good to you, and if it wasn’t, the end of a year is always a good time to reflect on wins and defeats, what you rocked and what you could have done better. The end of a year is also a great time to set new goals and to create a plan to improve yourself. If your goals have to do with exercise, you can always count on us here at The Hills for some assistance. From group classes to one-on-one personal training we’ve got you covered. If you’re planning on joining Peak Fit classes or investing in some personal training, rates will be going up as of January 1, 2025, so now might be a good time to purchase some packages as they don’t expire. Wishing you all Happy Holidays!
As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. - Jenn Sanchez, [email protected]

Our pools are a popular place to be even in the cold winter months. Our regular programming rarely slows down. We have numerous times throughout each day that the lap pool and surrounding pools are very busy. We encourage everyone to understand our swim policies and follow our programming to ensure the safest and most enjoyable member experience.

It is highly competitive and at this time is fully subscribed. We encourage swimmers to complete our pre-comp groups at a young age to prepare for this team. The Importance of Continuity with Swim Lessons
Taking a break from swim lessons, even for a few months, can cause regression and increase the time it’ll take when you (or your kids) return to swim lessons to get back on track. Luckily we offer swim lessons all year, even in the winter months.
Our swim instructors want to thank the members for wonderful swim memories this year. They have enjoyed watching the progress of so many kids and adults. And speaking of swim lessons, we have updated our procedures, pricing, and policies for 2025. We look forward to continuing to give everyone a great swim experience.
Private and semi private lessons are available throughout the winter. Schedule lessons directly with an instructor. Our Year Round Swim Instructors

Give Your Kids the Gift of Tae Kwon Do |
Our Tae Kwon Do program, led by Sensei Jeff, is where kids learn the Korean style of martial arts. Tae Kwon Do is a great sport for school-aged kids, as it provides a wide range of physical, mental, and social benefits. Physically, it helps kids improve their coordination, balance, flexibility, and overall fitness, while also teaching them self-defense skills. This is a year round program that builds confidence, mental toughness and self esteem. There are currently 12 students enrolled, ranging in age from 8-14. The program is split into two groups based on level and ability. The younger kids often focus on fundamental movements, basic kicks, and simple forms. As kids progress, the complexity of techniques and training intensifies. Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30–4:45pm Beginner 6–7:15pm Advanced Members: $95 per month Non-members: $110 per month
Register your kid(s) today! Registration forms can be found here. For more information, please contact Sensei Jeff directly via email or by calling 510-339-0234 x118. |
