UPDATE FROM OUR GENERAL MANAGER
Dear Hills Members,
With June now in full swing, summer is definitely here. Warmer weather and the end of a school year means more families around and in the pools and hot tubs. Please be sure to keep an eye on your children at all times. Our lifeguards are on duty to keep everyone safe, but they are not responsible for watching the behaviors and actions of children. Safety in and around the pools and hot tubs is the number one priority. Below you will find our Club Water Watchers Card; these cards are available at the front desk and are valuable guidelines to practice each time you bring your kids to the pool.
Please be mindful of the policies in place, especially for pool/hot tub usage. Many of these policies exist to keep everyone safe, which is the number one priority here.
MAIN POOL AND ACTIVITY RECREATION POOL RULES
- All swimmers must shower, using the Club's shower facilities, before entering the pool or spa.
- Babies/toddlers must wear leak proof plastic/rubber panties and or swim diapers when using the pools.
- Swimmers and anyone using the hot tubs must wear proper swimming attire (swimsuits, no cut-off shorts).
- Circle swimming is required in the lap lanes.
- Starting blocks may only be used under instructor supervision.
- When a lifeguard is on duty, the lifeguard reserves the right to deem any activity unsafe within different situations including use of objects. If a lifeguard is not on duty, the pool monitor/front desk/office staff is the enforcer.
- No riding on shoulders.
- No sliding on rails.
- No hard-throwing objects allowed in the pool. Includes tennis balls, basketballs, water polo balls. Unless under direct supervision of a certified instructor.
- No hanging/crossing under or over the lane lines.
- No diving.
- No jumping in backwards.
- No oversized toys, floats or boards.
- No using kickboards for play. They are for lap swimming only.
- No glass on the pool deck area.
- No squirt guns or devices that squirt water.
We look forward to a safe and wonderful summer here at The Hills!
-Nick

Seasonal Employees
It's that time of year when members will see many "new" faces working to keep our club running safely and smoothly. Some of our seasonal staffers grew up here at The Hills, others did not. Either way, we hope that you find them all to be smiling, welcoming and helpful. Our mission is to provide the finest club experience for each and every member and guest!
Our summer menu has some new and exciting offerings! Menu items include (but are not limited to) burgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps, chicken tenders, tacos and more! Our grill is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11am-7pm.
New and Introductory Group Ex Classes This Month!
This month Robin will offer Qigong every Friday on the Diablo Court. This new class kicks off on Friday, June 7, 8am. Qigong is the study of breath, intention, awareness and movement. The alignment of our energy, minds and movement allows us to put it all together to reap the benefits of this wondrous path. Qigong yields an abundance of lasting benefits such as increased energy, improved feeling of wellness, boosting our immune system and improved flexibility. The primary goal is to develop Qi. Qi is energy. Energy infuses every fiber of our existence. Qigong introduces us to exercises and concepts to develop our potential, to become more sensitive to our energy bodies and also to increase our overall health and vitality.
Looking for some motivation in the evening? Join Danielle for Strength Training every Tuesday night at 7:30pm. For those new to weight training, Danielle will utilize the first class of each month to introduce a fitness theme and build on it throughout the month. This month the focus will be Compound Exercise. Come on June 4th and learn more about it.
Are you curious about Dance Fitness but intimidated by the steps? Angelique will break down a dance style on the first Friday of each month at 9am. Beginners are encouraged to participate! June 7th the focus is the salsa.
Lastly, we will be offering a one-time only Introduction class to Tai Chi on Saturday, June 15, 11:30am in the Group Fitness Studio. Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that improves strength, flexibility, and balance. Sometimes called "Meditation in Motion", this low-impact exercise moves through a series of circular motions with your muscles relaxed rather than tensed. Easily adapted for all fitness levels. Saturday's class will include a quick overview of the Tai Chi philosophy followed by some of the basic patterns. NOTE: One-time only classes are subject to cancellation if there is no interest so please register here–it's free! JUNE GROUP EX SCHEDULE Looking forward to seeing you in one (or many) of our fun additions to our group fitness schedule this month!

Happy Summer from The Hills Pilates and Wellness Studio!
And just like that summer is here, kids are out of school, and we get to enjoy longer days with hopefully less to do. The Pilates studio will stay open all throughout summer. We may have a limited schedule due to lower enrollment. You can find the latest updates online and on the app: https://cachstc.clubautomation.com/
Are you planning a trip this summer? Then you need to check out our Vacation Pilates workshop. This popular program is ideal for anyone looking to get in shape and more importantly, stay in shape and pain free during travel and leisure.
We want to wish you a Happy and Healthy Summer! -Therese, Barbara, Lawrence, Anne, Colleen, Elizabeth and Carolyn
Vacation Pilates Workshop
Are you traveling this summer? Have you noticed that even a 4-hour trip in the car can wreck our shoulders and back? Not to mention flying with long overlays, hauling suitcases, hours off sitting, jet lag, etc. Longer vacations can also mean that we lose our gym routine and may start worrying about getting out of shape. As a frequent traveler to Sweden and other countries overseas, I have often found Pilates to be a great remedy to travel aches and fitness losses. You will stretch your whole body, activate your core, and develop muscle tone.
Our Vacation Pilates Program is uniquely tailored to new and experienced Pilates students. It is both simple, effective, and safe. All you need is a flex band (resistance band) and a soft surface.
Join us in the studio on Wednesday, June 26, at 6:15pm for our 1-hour workshop. You will receive your own flexband and a written handout of exercises. You will also receive access to a recording that you can download and follow along. Can't join in person? Get access to the recording and flex band without attending in person. No Pilates experience required.
Cost: $50, includes flex band Sign up online or on our app: https://cachstc.clubautomation.com/

This program gives members an opportunity to have coordinated match play at The Hills. While this program is competition based, each match is meant to be friendly and played in good-spirit. Sportsmanship and courtesy are regarded above all else in this league. *Non-members may participate in this league for a $25 fee, contact Coach Sydney to coordinate.
Known as one of the fastest growing sports, pickleball is a cross between ping pong, badminton and tennis, and combines elements of all three sports. The craze continues for this popular paddle sport and our sport court is reserved exclusively for pickleball from 11am to 1pm on weekdays. If this block of time doesn't work with your schedule, you are welcome to book a 1-hour reservation per membership per day. If you don't have your own equipment, you can ask the front desk staff for the pickleball bag (complete with paddles and balls) and/or basketballs.
Just outside of our enclosed court, we have 2 ping pong (or table tennis) tables. The front desk also has paddles and balls for members to borrow. And although we do not offer badminton at the club, these other three activities are a great excuse to get out and play! All we ask is that you kindly return any borrowed equipment to the front desk when you are finished playing.
